wow...dunno where that came from! oh...right...er...HARRY POTTER BOOK 7 SPOILERS so...start with the beginnings of an obession, and countless (read: MANY) hours later...well...here you have it! Since long-fromat scroll comics seem to be all the rage (I happen to love them!) I thought I'd try my hand! I have been SO excited about this project...I know it's a short read, but seriously, this is probably the most ambitious thing I've ever done art-work-wise that hasn't been assigned to me...thanks, RISD! (this is what I now do with my summer vacation  ) Anyways I LOVED the Grindelwald/Albus sub-plot in book 7, and I had to give this a shot at least, I just didn't think I'd actually DO it  As usual, I could go on for ages, but I'll try to keep it brief. I've been tossing this back and forth with [link] for a week or two now, just to bounce concepts around, and it evolved from there. It's really the first time I've taken a comic of any size all the way from concept to competion since I was, like...12. The verdict: I may actually really love doing comics! ballpoint and photoshop...written, drawn, and colored by me, characters etc obviously JK Rowling's! (To everyone who's commented and all the people who've fav'd this: THANK YOU! You're awesome! I'm so happy people are enjoying the piece ) Daily DeviationGiven 2008-06-07Harry Potter, '1945' by ~homarusrex : From the suggester, "I couldn't look away. There was so much movement in each of the frames that I thought I could actually see the images moving. The colours just drew me in and held me there and when I scrolled to the end, it was like waking up from one of those extremely vivid dreams, like turning off the TV in the middle of the biggest scenes in the show. The amount of detail put into this is so AMAZING: from the shapes of the faces, to the shadows on the wall, to the feeling elicited from every line and colour. It all seems so complicated yet at the same time, so simple. You could write a thousand stories just using this picture and I'm sure this could inspire even J.K. The only thing that bothers me is that Albus' nose doesn't look like its been broken yet. Oh, and his wand gets shorter for some reason at one point. Other than those two little nitpicks, this thing is absolutley great! Favoriting!
